Here we are once more, the beginning of another long and tiring week. Today, I thought I would let you all know how my writing is going. It’s been a while since I updated you guys on what pieces I’m properly working on. I’ve just really been writing blogs on any topics that suit me at the time, which I have really enjoyed and apparently you have to. But let’s do something different shall we?
Also, I apologize for any spelling or grammatical mistakes in this blog. I part wrote this at uni and finished it when I got home. I am very tired and can't pick up on every single error so please bear with me.
I was meant to upload this yesterday, but the weather was so bad that I couldn't connect to my wifi. So here it is today!
Since we are battling with Storm Doris today, I’ve decided to do another blog post. I can’t work Yashka today because of the bad weather, so we are having a lazy day. Well she is. I have a lot of uni work to catch up on before my lecture tomorrow.
Before I start, I would like to apologise for he incomplete blog I posted yesterday. I was writing this at uni and accidently pressed post instead of save. I was meant to take it down and complete it as soon as I got home, however I fell ill and couldn’t do much for a few hours. This post will be complete, rest assured!
The title of this blog is a soundtrack from Doctor Who, The Angels Take Manhattan. The piece itself, Together or Not At All is one of my favourite pieces. I have only recently discovered it after a very long time. This soundtrack has inspired a few pieces of mine, I still get goose bumps every time I hear it.
"Oh be calm, be calm.
I know you feel like you are breaking down.
Oh I know that it gets so hard sometimes,
Take it from me, I've been there a thousand times.
You hate your pulse because it still thinks you're alive
And everything's wrong
It just gets so hard sometimes
Be calm, be calm." -Be Calm by Fun.
Its been two weeks or so since I started this website and I have loved every second of it. So in celebration, here's a long blog! Yay! This is why I haven't been updating as much as I normally to. Energy is pretty down too at the moment.
Anyways, enough moaning and lets crack on!
As part of my Writing for Radio module at university this semester, we have been asked to pen a small piece titled This I Believe. It's meant to be a piece about our values, what we believe to be true. This is meant to be anonymous in my creative writing group, but I actually like what I've wrote so I would share it with you lovely folks.
We've All Got Both Light And Dark Inside Us. What Matters Is The Part We Choose To Act On. That's Who We Really Are.
I apologize the title is so long, but I didn't want to cut it down, its so powerful I think its necessary to have the full quote. The title of this post is by Sirius Black from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, one of my favourite books of all time. I love this quote, I think it’s very true, everyone can relate to it.
Saturday seems to roll around quicker and quicker. I've noticed my days all sort of merging into one recently. Its very rare that I actually get time to myself. Most of the time, I'm writing, I'm doing uni work, working Yahska or reading. You could say that I get plenty of time to myself, like when I sit down and read. But it is not really for pleasure anymore. That's they thing with my course. It sucks the life out of reading for pleasure. I read because I have to.
Today, the title of this post was said by Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I love this quote for several reason. It shows how friendship is very important, that our friends will stick by us through thick and thin, even if they think we're wrong. If we need them, they will be there. If we don't, they will probably still be by our side. It takes a lot for the people who care about us to leave our side. No matter how far we try and push the away.
The title of this post is a quote from the BBC show Merlin.
This quote says a lot to me as a writer. It links back to my previous post about how a writer has to have courage in order to get their work out to the general public and not be afraid of the response they get.
